Latin Fashion Week Colorado—Giannina Azar

Giannina Azar is Dominican designer known for having dressed celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Gwen Stefani, among others. Her designs have been shown at New York Fashion Weeks, Los Angeles Fashion Weeks, Aruba Fashion Weeks, and Arab Fashion Week in Dubai.
She was born in Santo Domingo to a Lebanese father and a Dominican mother. She started her education at APEC University in Santa Domingo, and went on to attend the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City. Azar is also a mother of three. Her atelier and showroom is currently in Miami, Florida.
Her new Fall 2022 collection shown at Latin Fashion Week is called “Isola di Capri.” It was inspired by a trip to the Island of Capri and is made with eco-friendly materials. Her designs are intricate — both in the colors and patterns and in the textures and embellishments they employ.
As a model, I was impressed with her ability to create a colorful collection without loosing the classy or elegant look that she is known for. I was honored to wear Giannina Azar at Latin Fashion Week.
