Parker Fashion Week—Dan Richters

Dan Richters is an Omaha-based designer with a background in fine arts. The pieces in his most recent collection are made entirely out of silicon — instead of fabric or more traditional textiles — allowing them to fit to the body like a second skin and create an almost futuristic appearance.
He made and debuted his first collection in 2009 at Omaha Fashion week and has made at least one collection every year since then.
As described by Richters in a 2019 interview with Andrea Vanderheyden of Omaha Fashion Week, “My brand is about fantasty, mystery, escapism, reality. My image emotes the slightly disconcerting nature of natural beauty — the danger of the ocean, the darkness of the deep forest, the fatal mystery of the polar ice caps, the treachery of mountains. Yet, at the same time, these things evoke beauty and charge our imagination.”
I was honored to model for Richters two nights in a row in both the Friday and the Saturday shows of Parker Fashion Week presenting two different looks: first red/purple and then the copper/light up dress that you will see in the photos on this page.
